So, where are we going in October :)?

Hello everyone, I can finally share the location where we are going to spend our weekend in October! Check out…the Playhouse!

The 220-acre estate (including the Playhouse that some of you will hopefully visit with me) was the first residence in the world powered by AC electricity and when built, the home was known to be with the most incandescent light bulbs in the world. It was originally developed and built by George Westinghouse, an early innovator of electrical inventions.

The Westinghouse’s spent their later years on this estate, which was purchased by the Vanderbilts after their death. The Vanderbilts tore down Westinghouse’s mansion and built their own, which still stands today.

The house was featured in the 1st season of Netflix series “The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals” where I saw it for the first time… (check the gourmet stays episode!)

The property was covered in detail in both Berkshire and Boston Magazines and was voted #1 property on VRBO listings for the Berkshires.

The house has its own lakefront access where we can use a canoes/ kayaks and observe beautiful October foliage. There is an abundance of hiking trails and walking paths to enjoy. Its many amenities include beach gear, tennis courts and other outdoor games.

A Victorian garden can be a backdrop for our morning Meditation/ Yoga class, and just in case weather plays some tricks on us that weekend, we can always move into a 600 sq foot yoga studio that is located inside the house.

With 15 beds and convertibles, it can readily sleep up to 20 people. The main floor of The Playhouse has 30-foot vaulted ceilings with lofts at either end, and large windowed cupolas. The property was finished in high-end modern minimalist style and embellished with fine art throughout…
